We’re looking for extraordinary people to become part of our family and inspire the next generation of swimmers. As a Water Babies teacher you will receive the highest standard of training and upon completion, will be responsible for creating your own lesson plans and teaching 0-5 year olds the essential skill of swimming and water safety.

Our teachers are required to undertake six weeks of online training and spend a minimum of 10 hours shadowing a range of teachers and lessons. Our teachers will then dive in to an eight-day residential course to explore our programme in depth and learn about child development, strokes and skills. Lastly, they’ll shadow a few more classes to finalise everything they’ve learnt before they begin to lead their own classes..

Hours:
We offer part time, flexible working, offering a range of hours. Weekend availability preferred but not essential.

Salary/Wage/Earnings:
Hourly rate starts at £17.50 once training has been completed.

Best suited to:
A big heart and a passion for teaching young children is a great start. You don’t need to have any previous experience, many of our teachers are parents who caught the bug for teaching when they experienced it for themselves in our classes.

How often do you work?
I teach everyday apart from a Thursday however this is through choice as the office are as flexible as they can be when planning in teaching hours.

How does the job fit around your family life?
The job fits perfectly around family life as we swim mainly during term times so it means I can look after my children during the school holidays. In general, the lessons take place during the school day so that I am able take my children and pick them up from school. When planning my lessons, I can work this around a busy home life. How much time do you commit?
I teach 16 hours a week and have a further 2 hours of planning my lessons a week I also help with any office admin if required

Where do you carry out your work?
The pools I teach in are all local to home so I’m never too far away should an emergency arise.

Do you need a car?
Yes

Do you get support/training?
Our franchise is supportive and will help support any extra training needed there are also opportunities to progress within the franchise and head office. We have a teacher team within the franchise, and we are really supportive of each other and always happy to help each other.

Would you recommend this opportunity to others?
Teaching children to swim is helping to enhance a child’s skills for life. Being able to make a difference to the swimmer and their family is really special. It doesn’t feel like a job most of the time and every day is very different especially with children!
