My view

Name: Colette Wolsko

Location: Staten Island, NY

Life: Married, 2 children

How often do you work?
I typically teach 8 classes a week which is about 1 hr and fifteen minutes per class in studio time.

How does the job fit around your family life?
I love Zumbini because I can schedule my classes around my children's school and activities as well as my husband’s work schedule. It really gives me the freedom to do classes on my own time without stressing about missing important life events.

How much time do you commit?
Besides the approximate 10 hours a week in studio time I work about 2-4, 4 hours a week prepping for my classes, this includes cleaning instruments, coming up with a class playlist and going over choreography, and keeping up with marketing.

Where do you carry out your work?
I predominantly work out of a dance studio where I rent out space hourly. I have also done classes in pre-schools.

Do you need a car?
Yes a car is necessary to transport class materials and get to my location.

Do you get support/training?
YES! One of the things I love most about Zumbini is the online support platform that have tons of videos regarding setting up your business and managing it, classroom tips, marketing materials, choreography, educational materials of why we do the things we do in class and of course a fantastic online community of other Zumbini instructors for tips and tricks.

Would you recommend this opportunity to others?
Absolutely. Zumbini has provided me with te ability to make an income and be there for my family. It has allowed me to become more involved with my community and meet so many awesome families while doing so. The joy I feel being around the kids and seeing the smile on their faces is priceless.

Do you advertise?
I do advertise on my personal and business social media accounts but most of my advertising is through word of mouth and the advertising that Zumbini provides for the instructors.

Are there any downsides to the role?
The only downside to the role is that it takes time to build a following and that if you are sick it is hard to find a substitute as the class would need to be taught by another licensed instructor. Luckily because your demographic is predominantly moms making up the class should not be an issue. issue.
