The Children’s Hospital Charity
Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is a specialist children’s hospital, providing the best possible care for children all over Yorkshire, the UK and beyond. The Children’s Hospital Charity support the hospital by creating new facilities and building an environment with children in mind. By supporting The Children’s Hospital Charity, you can make Sheffield Children’s even better, by creating an environment equipped for an unpredictable future.
Sheffield Children’s Hospital is the designated Major Trauma Centre for children in South Yorkshire & Bassetlaw providing a service for a population of over 375,000 children and young people.
We need to get patients who urgently need critical care to our Emergency Department as soon as possible. It really is the difference between life and death.
We’re currently working towards funding a Helipad on the roof of Sheffield Children’s Hospital. A helipad would mean patients can land and be transferred anytime with flood lighting. When the weather sets in, the new helipad would also have electric trace heating incorporated into the deck to ensure that ice and snow do not disrupt the continued use of the facility during periods of inclement weather.
Team Theo’s Glow Run is a festive 5k taking place in the dark and lit up by lots of colourful lights as you journey through the route. Grab your tutus, Christmas accessories and glow sticks for one of our favourite events of the year and help us light up Endcliffe Park for Sheffield Children's!
Those who decide to volunteer will need warm & waterproof clothes and shoes and torch if they have one (we will provide one if not). The charity will also provide a high vis, charity t-shirt and a hot chocolate for all our volunteers.
Timings: 18.15PM – 21.30PM (Please arrive at 18.15pm to sign in and be ready for your briefing at 18.30pm) Keep those Christmas jumpers, glow sticks and elf hats safe because you will be needing them on Tuesday 14th December 2021 when we will get together in person at Endcliffe Park to do the Glow Run 2021.
Voluntary role. The charity will provide a high vis, charity t-shirt and a hot chocolate for all our volunteers.

We’re looking for enthusiastic event marshals to cheer on our runners as they take on the 5k challenge and to ensure that all are on route and staying safe. In volunteering, you will get the opportunity to meet other likeminded individuals, while getting into the festive spirit with over 400 people running in crazy Christmas outfits.
