How often do you work?
We have classes and workshops running Monday-Friday mainly during the mornings. I put aside one afternoon a week for admin work.
How does the job fit around your family life?
Perfectly! I work school hours only so i am always able to drop off and collect my own children. My working hours have grown as my children have grown, and once they were both at school full time it meant I could apply more time to Boogie Beat.
How much time do you commit?
I work approximately 10-12 hours a week plus 3-4 hours admin, but this does vary week on week. I have regular weekly sessions but also other one off/monthly bookings for example care homes and special events in schools etc.
Where do you carry out your work?
I run parent and children classes, workshops in nurseries, preschools and care homes and I run Birthday Parties on some weekends.
Do you need a car?
Yes 100%, the equipment comes in boxes but it would be tricky to travel on public transport with it.
Do you get support/training?
We do, and the support from the Franchise owner is fantastic. She is always there at the end of the phone to help and discuss things when needed.
Would you recommend this opportunity to others?
It is a perfect opportunity for anybody wanting to earn a decent income around other responsibilities, e.g. children. It is also the most fun and exciting job I have ever had, and working with so many children, families and EY settings is an absolute pleasure.
Do you advertise?
My main form of advertisement is via my FB page and local FB community groups. It is very rare I use paid advertisement.
Are there any downsides to the role?
I find submitting tax a bit of a bind, but that is just part of being self employed! I try to keep on top of this so it doesn't become too big a job.
