Welcome to our support page for the mumandworking 2018 awards. Please read this information BEFORE you nominate!

Please note these awards are for businesses and individuals who are shining examples of how child-raising (or other commitments) and a career can go hand in hand, examples of how family-friendly working 'works'. These awards are for those businesses based within the UK, for working mums AND dads* and the employers and agencies that support them.

  • Everyone can nominate. You can nominate yourself or someone else as long as the criteria is met, nominations for or from parents or those with other responsibilities who rely on flexible working are all welcome.*

  • The majority of categories will be judged by our VIP Panel and several awards once nominations have closed will be voted for by the visitors to www.mumandworking.co.uk

  • Pencil 6 March 2018 in your diary now – because if you are chosen as a finalist, you will be invited to the LIVE awards and reception at RBS, London.

  • A strong business model or successful career will not necesarily mean award success as we want to see how the candidate or business promotes, personifies and benefits from flexible working. What does family-friendly working mean to you, your team, your family, your employers /employees? How do you achieve it and why is it so important to the role or business?

  • The closing date for nominations is December 8 2017 at 5pm

  • Judged Categories - Shortlisted nominees’ details will be announced online after December 15 2017 .  These will then go forward to the next judging stage.

  • Voted Categories - Voting will open on January 5 at 5pm and close on February 5 at 5pm

  • If you are a FINALIST you will be notified on February 6 and invited to join us on March 6. Please note as per the ts and cs it is a requirement for all finalists to attend*

  • Nominees may choose not to be part of the awards by notifying us by email to suzanne@whatson4.co.uk by December 8 2017

  • Please make sure you have reviewed the Ts & Cs HERE

Please read the following information carefully -

Please take time over your nomination – you can draft your content in advance and then paste it into the form if you prefer. It is important you know what the judges are looking for in order that you can supply the information they need.

You can enter as many categories as are applicable but please don't just copy and paste the same information for each award.  Please use no more than 5,000 characters (with spaces).

Please

  • Look at the criteria carefully – make sure the admission is specific to the category and that the nominee qualifies.

  • Briefly describe the nominee and the nature of the business.

  • Briefly detail why flexible working is so important to them.

Then

  • Explain how flexible working ‘works’ - how and why your nominee benefits from a flexible working model and why they should be considered for this category.

  • Demonstrate that this is a viable and successful business model and explain why. How does flexible working contribute to their success or the success of the company/operation? (Please remember these are BUSINESS awards)

  • Demonstrate that the nominee is a prime example of a ‘flexible working winner’. Have they gone on to inspire others to embrace flexible working or have they implemented flexible working in their own team, business, operation or peer group.

  • If nominees get through to the final round there will be the opportunity to forward relevant supporting documentation – press coverage, HR policies, business plans etc to the VIP Judges.  Judges may also request a telephone chat.

  • Be proud and Good Luck!
