How did you become a Quantum Touch practitioner? What is your background?

I have been an at home mum since my first child was born but when they were all at school I felt ready to take my life in a new direction. I have always been interested in health and healing but didn't know which direction to take. When I heard about Quantum-Touch from a practitioner I knew this was the thing I had been looking for. It is easy to learn, wonderful to do and you finish a session with more energy than you started with!

What exactly does Quantum-Touch involve?

Quantum-Touch is a form of hands-on energy healing. The practitioner focuses and amplifies life force energy using the Quantum-Touch techniques (which involve breathing, visualization, body awareness and intention) into the hands which are placed on or around the area being worked on. The client's energy levels come up to this high level of energy which enables healing to take place. A session usually lasts for an hour.

What sort of problems/issues do clients normally have when they come to you for help/therapy?

Quantum-Touch provides fast and profound pain relief and accelerated healing for a wide range of conditions so any condition or illness can be treated. I have treated a variety of conditions including arthritis, back and neck problems, sprained ankles, carpal tunnel syndrome and I use Quantum-Touch regularly on my family for colds, bumps and bruises. The beauty of this sort of healing is you can help people who can't get any more help or relief from their doctor.

What/Where was your training? How long did it take overall?

To start with I attended a Basic Workshop with a Certified Instructor which takes place over two days. Living on the Isle of Man I had to travel to England for this.

I then had to undertake 60 hours of documented practice on friends and family and whoever else I could find with problems! By the end of this I was receiving clients by personal recommendation. I then had to either repeat the Basic Workshop or attend an Interactive Video Workshop (which is the Basic Workshop recorded onto DVD). I decided to host my own Video Workshop which is very simple and fun to do. You buy the DVDs from Quantum-Touch (www.quantumtouch.com) then decide when to host your workshop. You need 2 or more people as well as yourself for the workshop to count towards practitioner certification and the facilitator is paid a small amount for each person that attends.

From start to finish my training took 6 months.

How did training fit round your children?

Each workshop is 12 hours long, each of these occupied a full weekend. I spent on average 2 to 3 hours per week working on clients to make up the 60 hours practical experience. I tried to fit the hours into my spare time during the day, but this proved difficult as a lot of people wanted to come at weekends. An understanding family was essential at times.

Roughly, how much did your training cost?

About £500-£600 including travel to the UK.

Where do you carry out your work?

I work from a dedicated healing room in my own home.

 

Do you need lots of specialist equipment?

You don't need any specialist equipment but I have a massage table for mine and my client's comfort.

How many hours do you work a week?

I work part-time, just a few hours per week. I would normally hope to see 3 or 4 clients each week. Fitting this in with the school day effectively means this is 2 days work.

How does the job fit round your family life?

The job fits in perfectly with my family life - I work hours to suit and don't see clients in the school holidays.

How do you find clients - do you advertise?

I have advertised, putting up posters and producing some leaflets but the best form of advertising is word of mouth.

What is the earning potential?

Like everything it depends how many hours you put in, I charge £30 for an hour's healing session which includes the time taken to get the client's history and some feedback at the end.

Is the job rewarding?

It is very rewarding. You can't put a price on being able to reduce people's pain and improve their quality of life.

Do you think it is a job that fits in well with being a Mum?

I couldn't think of anything that fits in better with being a Mum, I work hours to suit my mine and my family's needs and can now do more than hug them better when they hurt themselves.

Do you think you have to have any special qualities (in terms of personality) to become a Quantum-Touch practitioner?

I don't think you need any special qualities but it helps if you are interested in helping people and health issues.

Any advice for a Mum or Dad wanting to start training?

Go for it! You can start by reading the book, Quantum-Touch The Power to Heal by Richard Gordon, which shows the techniques involved. It's a wonderful skill to learn for anyone, even if you don't decide to go on and become a Practitioner.
